Ensemble Sooon formed in 2022 with three of Brisbane’s leading musicians.
Dr Martin Kay is a saxophonist and composer who teaches the next generation of professionals at Queensland Conservatorium. Dr Danielle Bentley is an award-winning  cellist and festival curator performing regularly in contemporary art music, classical and commercial settings.  Nozomi Omote is an eclectic percussionist in demand for her virtuoso playing and open improvisational approach. Ensemble Sooon  have released two live recordings for grassroots collective Alchemix as well as two studio albums on APRA-award-winning Made Now Music. Ensemble Sooon is committed to performing their energetic and accessible style of modern chamber music in a variety of venues, from the Junk Bar, Cave Inn, Sunshine Coast Chamber Music Festival, private homes, the 3rd Australian Biennale of Reductive Arts, and Queensland Conservatorium. In 2025 they will collaborate with artists including harpist Emily Granger, composer/pianist Tristan Coehlo and trailblazing electronics and percussion duo Shugorei. Plans for 2026 include the premiere of a specially commissioned work, an interdisciplinary epic (dance/music/film/lighting) exploring change, by renowned Australian composer Frank Milward.
